Agreement to Terms

Welcome to Refqan Pet Adoption, owned by Pawspact. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our services.

Platform Purpose

Refqan is a community impact initiative that connects people wanting to adopt pets with rescue caregivers (shelters and rescuers) in the UAE and internationally. Our platform facilitates pet adoptions, sponsorships, and provides resources for animal welfare.

User Accounts

Registration

To use certain features, you must register for an account using OAuth providers (Google, Facebook). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

Account Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Keep your account information up to date
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • You are responsible for all activities under your account
Adoption Process

Application Submission

Submitting an adoption application does not guarantee approval. Rescue caregivers have sole discretion in approving or rejecting applications based on the best interests of the animal.

Adoption Fees

Adoption fees are set by individual rescue caregivers and go directly to support animal welfare. Fees are non-refundable once an adoption is completed, except in cases of fraud or misrepresentation.

Adopter Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information in adoption applications
  • Ensure you can provide proper care for the adopted pet
  • Comply with local laws and regulations regarding pet ownership
  • Maintain communication with rescue caregivers as required
Rescue Caregiver Responsibilities

Rescue caregivers using our platform agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about pets listed for adoption
  • Disclose known health issues, behavioral concerns, or special needs
  • Process adoption applications in a timely and fair manner
  • Comply with all applicable animal welfare laws and regulations
  • Use adoption fees solely for animal welfare purposes
  • Maintain proper documentation and medical records for pets
Sponsorship Packages

Our sponsorship packages are structured as service purchases to comply with UAE regulations:

  • Sponsorship funds support specific pet care services (food, medical care, supplies)
  • Sponsors receive updates on the pets they support
  • Sponsorships are non-refundable once processed
  • We reserve the right to redirect funds if a sponsored pet is adopted or circumstances change
Payment Terms

All payments are processed securely through Stripe:

  • Prices are displayed in AED (United Arab Emirates Dirham)
  • Payment must be completed before adoption or sponsorship is finalized
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis
  • We are not responsible for payment processing errors by third-party providers
Content and Conduct

Prohibited Activities

You may not use our platform to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Engage in commercial breeding or selling of animals
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to compromise platform security
  • Scrape or collect data without authorization
Intellectual Property

All content on the Refqan platform, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Pawspact or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Our platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind:

  • We do not guarantee the accuracy of pet information provided by rescue caregivers
  • We are not responsible for the health, behavior, or condition of adopted pets
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free platform operation
  • Adoption outcomes are between adopters and rescue caregivers
Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Refqan and Pawspact shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform or adoption of pets facilitated through our services.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Refqan, Pawspact, and their affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, violation of these terms, or violation of any rights of another party.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the UAE.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on our platform. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
